“Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
Now that we have seen one way to maintain motivation for the things of God, the next thing you must do is to add prayer and fasting to your study life. Fasting awakens your spiritual senses and makes you sensitive to God and His voice. It makes God’s word more understandable to you and allows you to receive revelations that will sustain you. Prayer, on the other hand, stirs you up and causes the word you have meditated upon to gain roots in you. The word of God cannot truly take root and bear the desired fruit in you until you begin to engage in adequate prayer on a regular basis.
Finally, stay positive and see your inspiration or zeal come back to you. Stop seeing yourself dry and start seeing yourself burning with revelation and zeal for the things of the Spirit. Sometimes, what people call “spiritual dryness” is just negativity, which comes as a result of the way they think or perceive matters. Some feel because they are no longer hearing God or feeling the presence of God, they have become spiritually dry, but that is just the mind. The fact that you did not feel or hear God does not imply that He is not present, nor does it imply that you are now dry. It simply means you must be more sensitive and remain faithful, knowing that He is with you, and you are very much alive in your zeal. So, I encourage you to take these few steps and wait on the Lord. The Bible says in our opening text, “those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV). Hallelujah!

The fact that you cannot feel God or hear Him does not mean He is far, He is with you always!
