“…I harden my body with blows and bring it under complete control, to keep myself from being disqualified…” —1 Corinthians 9:27 (GNT)
Having established the fact that you have to be willing to make the necessary sacrifices in the area of your dreams, it is important that you understand that this is a serious matter. More is needed to have big dreams and aspirations. You must be disciplined enough to take corresponding actions. Somebody will say, “But I am trying”. Well, I do not dispute that, but the truth is that if the efforts you have been putting in were truly sacrificial, the results will show. So, you must review your life very carefully and be sure that you have been making the right sacrifices. Interestingly, not doing anything regarding your dreams and pursuits is a sacrifice in itself, because you have made up your mind to sacrifice your goals by doing little or nothing. But if you do something, you are sacrificing to make that dream a reality. So make the right choice today and know what you are going to do.
No big thing achieved today in the world was without sacrifice. And there won’t be any great things that will take place in your life if you do not make sacrifices. Our Lord Jesus Christ before He could offer Himself for us and achieve the name above every other name, He made a sacrifice. The Bible records that “…He always had the nature of God, but He did not think that by force He should try to remain equal with God. Instead of this, of His own free will, he gave up all he had and took the nature of a servant. He became like a human being and appeared in human likeness. He was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to death- his death on the cross…”Philippians 2:6-7 (GNT). Did you see that? He gave up everything just so He could become our representative and give us the life we enjoy today. So get to work, and start making the necessary sacrifices today. Remember, when we talk about sacrifices, we are talking about you denying yourself of certain pleasures today just to achieve something bigger tomorrow. We are talking about delayed gratification just so that you can have the focus required to achieve those desires of yours. We are talking about improving and developing yourself spiritually and personally. Praise God!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
All-powerful and every living father, I thank you for making me understand the importance of sacrifice. I declare that henceforth-necessary efforts and actions will be taken toward the things I want to achieve and become in life. I refuse to waste any more time and choose to go for the things I want to achieve before the year ends, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
