“…the graves broke open, and many of God’s people who had died were raised to life…” Matthew 27:52 (GNT)

When our Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary, something significant happened that season. The Bible recorded that “…the graves broke open, and many of God’s people who had died were raised to life…”Matthew 27:52(GNT). This happened because our Lord Jesus Christ went to hell, defeated death and came back with Him, the keys to death and hell. When He appeared to John, He said “…‭I am the living one! I was dead, but now I am alive forever and ever. I have authority over death and the world of the dead…” Revelation 1:18 (GNT). Did you see that?

Everyone who died walking with God went to Papa Abraham’s bosom in hell and these people waited for the coming of the Messiah and our Lord Jesus Christ came and set them all free the Bible recorded that their graves were opened and people saw them before they finally ascended to be with God their creator. Now, just the same way, they were raised back to life to go and be with their maker, that is how, when we check out of this world, we will  also go and be with our maker as well. The resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ paved the way for us and because He lives, we also have hopes of living for eternity. Therefore, as you celebrate Easter this season, rejoice because we are celebrating eternal life. A life that guarantees an eternal destiny with God. Halleluiah!
