“Help carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will obey the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2 GNT)
As we celebrate Christmas today, one of the greatest ways we can honor our Lord Jesus Christ is by reaching out to those in need. While many are enjoying festive meals and joyous gatherings, there are others who lack basic necessities—food, clothing, or even a place to call home. As Christians, we have a responsibility to look out for these individuals and help in any way we can.
The Apostle Paul emphasized this when he said, “Help carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will obey the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2 GNT). Did you notice that? By extending a helping hand, we fulfill Christ’s command to love one another.
If Jesus were physically present today, this is exactly how He would celebrate His birth—by giving and helping those in need. As His representatives on earth, it’s our privilege and duty to take the initiative to ease the burdens of others.
This season, make a conscious effort to reach out. Find those who may be struggling, and offer whatever help you can—whether it’s providing food, clothing, or even a kind word of encouragement. In doing so, you make your Christmas celebration truly meaningful and bring joy not only to others but also to the heart of God.
