“….so when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am….” Exodus 3:4 (NKJV)
In the opening text, we see that God called out to Moses and he immediately heard Him and answered Him. One of the problems believers have today is actually hearing the voice of God when he calls out to us or speaks to us. I have heard many people say I want to hear God, but the amazing thing about this is that; God speaks to us all the time. So what is the problem then? Why do people not hear the Lord when he is speaking to them? In a certain scripture, our Lord Jesus Christ Himself said, “…you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me…” John 10:26-27 (NKJV)
The above scripture makes us understand that sometimes unbelief can make a man not hear when God is speaking clearly and unbelief can also cause the lack of understanding. Another thing is to make up your mind to be a follower of God, because only those who are followers (sheep) hear the voice of God. You really can’t hear the Lord if you are not His sheep and you cannot be his sheep if you do not follow the scripture because this is the very first place God speaks from. You need to hear God’s words in written letters before you can hear Him in audible sounds and visual images. The written letter is the Bible, the audible voice of God is the words He speaks to your ears and the visual voice are the images God uses to speak in dreams and visions.
Beloved, the Lord has been calling out to you in the various pages of the Bible. I encourage you to pick up the Bible and hear His voice. He will speak to your heart and give you divine direction on what you need. If you train yourself to hear Him from His written word which is the Bible, you will easily migrate to hearing and understanding His audible and visual sounds when He speaks. God is calling out to you today, because He desires to speak with you. All you have to say is, “Here I am Lord!” Praise God.

Confession for the Day
Father, I am grateful for helping me understand the importance of paying attention to your words. I decree that as I give attention to your word, my ears are opening to start hearing your voice in the name of Jesus. Amen!
