He Was Delivered Up for Our Offenses

“…who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification….” Romans 4:25 (NKJV)

Have you seen the movie “Passion of the Christ”? Or have you read the Gospels, and noticed the way our Lord Jesus Christ was beaten and humiliated? If yes, then the question is, do you know why He went through all that suffering? Do you know why He was badly beaten and wounded that way? Well, He went through all that because of you. All the suffering He went through was supposed to be for us. It was the punishment that was due to come to us because of the mistake of the first Adam, but Jesus came and took our place and the wrath of God fell on Him. The Bible says He was “…delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification…” Romans 4:25 (NKJV).

Now, He did all that so that divine justice could be satisfied. Today, justice has been satisfied and we have been made free. We will no longer receive any punishment again because we were already punished in Christ Jesus. Your responsibility now is to embrace this truth and live in the consciousness of it everyday of your life. It should give you joy and assurance of an eternity with God. When the devil tries to bring up an accusation against you, your responsibility is to remind him of this truth and when you do, you have rendered his accusation useless because He knows what Jesus did and he knows that when Jesus did it, He did it for us. So, rejoice and be grateful to God all the days of your life for sending Jesus Christ to pay the ultimate price for you.

Glorious and ever living Father, I thank you for all you have done for me in Christ Jesus. From the depth of my heart, I truly appreciate the price that was paid and I choose this day to live in the consciousness of it and as I do, I am winning in all things because I know the truth! Hallelujah!
