“I pray that your love will keep on growing more and more, together with true knowledge and perfect judgment, so that you will be able to choose what is best. Then you will be free from all impurity and blame on the Day of Christ.” — Philippians 1:9-10 (GNT)
Do you know that God wants you to grow in your love walk? Do you realize that He desires you to grow in how you express love—both to Him and to those around you? If you weren’t aware, I am telling you now.
As a young believer, I understood the need to grow spiritually, but I didn’t realize that I was also supposed to grow in love. Because of this, I struggled in this area for a long time until God began to teach me its importance. Today, by His grace, I have grown in my love walk, and I continue to grow—because growing in love never ends. The only One who has reached the pinnacle of love is God Himself, for He is love. He doesn’t need to grow in love because He is love personified.
Beloved, if you desire a deep, fruitful, and powerful relationship with God, you must grow in your love toward Him. If you want to build meaningful relationships with people—ones that are productive and free from strife—you must grow in love. Why? Because this is what God expects from you. Unfortunately, many believers have not grasped this truth. Some walk in love one day but falter the next. However, this is not how God wants it to be.
As a believer, you must understand that growing in love is God’s will for you because love is one of the greatest forces on earth. Paul the Apostle recognized this truth, which is why he prayed for the Philippian church:
“I pray that your love will keep on growing more and more, together with true knowledge and perfect judgment, so that you will be able to choose what is best. Then you will be free from all impurity and blame on the Day of Christ.” — Philippians 1:9-10 (GNT)
Growing in love is one of the things that will keep you free from impurity and blame on the Day of Christ. Therefore, make a conscious decision not just to walk in love but to grow in love.
Remember what our Lord Jesus Christ said:
“Now I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. If you have love for one another, then everyone will know that you are my disciples.” — John 13:34-35 (GNT)
So, choose to grow in your love walk. Hallelujah!
