“…I assure you that unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. The greatest in the kingdom of heaven is the one who humbles himself and becomes like this child.” — Matthew 18:3-4 (GNT)
Everybody wants to be great, successful, and influential in society. It’s a good aspiration, and it takes nothing for God to make someone great. Our study of the Word shows us how God uplifted many who seemed undeserving. Solomon was made king instead of his brother Adonijah, even though he was the youngest. David, a shepherd boy, was chosen as king, replacing Saul, even though Saul was still on the throne. Joseph, a slave, became prime minister in a foreign land. Esther became queen over many other beautiful ladies who vied for the king’s attention.
It takes God nothing to uplift someone and bring them to dine with kings. But greatness has a price. The question is: how many are willing to pay it?
Our opening text reveals that the greatest in the kingdom of heaven is the one who humbles himself. These words were spoken by Jesus Christ Himself, so God desires to see humility in all His children. While we all want to be great, we must also examine how humble we are before the Lord. How do you react when corrected? Does pride blind and anger you when you are rebuked? Can you accept corrections and apologize when necessary?
It’s time to use the Word of God to locate and eliminate every trace of pride, replacing it with humility. I encourage you to do what is necessary, because your time to dine with kings is now. Your time for promotion, progress, and a great life has come, and the only thing that can stand in your way is pride. But if you deal with it, you will walk in your preordained destiny. Hallelujah!

Confession for the Day
Heavenly Father, I thank You for opening my mind and eyes to look within myself, so I can take steps that will lead to greatness. I declare that every trace of pride in me is replaced with humility, and humility takes me to a place of greatness, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
