“…so then, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you will be healed….”James 5:16 (GNT)
One of the most difficult things I have seen amongst many of God’s people today, is that when they offend, they find it difficult to admit their fault. They prefer to let things be and, in most cases, they claim that they are in the right. This continues for a very long time and if the person they are having issues with does not try to make up with them, they don’t bother trying to make up. They would rather be at loggerheads with the person than make up.
However, the question is, is this how God wants us to live our lives? Does He want us to go on with this kind of attitude? Certainly not! What He wants from us is simple. When we find ourselves in such a situation, He wants us to take responsibility and admit our fault. In our opening text, the Bible says, “…confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you will be healed….” James 5:16 (GNT). Did you see that? God does not want us holding back and acting as though nothing happened. When you do that, you are proud and that’s something He does not want from us. Rather, He wants us to own up to our wrong and apologize. Interestingly, it doesn’t take anything away from you. It does not reduce you or affect your life in any way. Rather, it impacts your life in a positive way.
So, as you journey in your walk with God, learn to take responsibility and admit your fault. Learn to look beyond yourself and consider others. The Bible says “…don’t do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to boast, but be humble toward one another, always considering others better than yourselves. And look out for one another’s interests, not just for your own. The attitude you should have is the one that Christ Jesus had…”Philippians 2:3-5 (GNT) Hallelujah!
Today’s Rhema
God wants us to be quick to own up our wrongs and apologize without hesitation!
Confession for the Day
Father, I am so grateful for this wonderful counsel you have brought to me today. I decree therefore, that I am walking in the grace to admit my fault whenever I am wrong. I decree that ego will not stop because humility is he way forward in Jesus’ name. Amen!
