“…you have heard that it was said, ‘love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you….” Matthew 5:44 (NKJV)

Having established the importance of loving those who have made us enemies, you might say but sir, it is not easy to just love your enemies. Well to the man in the world it is difficult, but if you have given your life to Christ, it shouldn’t be a difficult task for you because love was the foundation upon which your salvation was established. Loving only those who love you has no reward. Let me explain.

Some people do not know that walking in love has a reward and loving those who hate us has an even greater reward. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, why should God reward you if you love only the people who love you? Think about it…if you speak only to your friends, have you done anything out of the ordinary? Even pagans do that! Then He said, you must be perfect- just as your father in heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5:46 GNB). So, make a conscious decision today to love your enemies and pray for them who persecute you. Hallelujah!

TODAY’S RHEMA

Love is the foundation upon which your salvation was established, so owe no one anything but love.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Thank you Heavenly father for loving me and teaching me to love everyone including those who are not nice to me, I declare that as I continue to walk in the path of righteousness, love for everybody will be my utmost priority. I refuse to hate or walk in bitterness, I refuse to walk in the ways of my enemies, rather I choose to love them and pray for them at all times because this is the right way to live my life as a Christian. Praise God!
