“…you have heard that it was said, ‘love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you…” Matthew 5:44 (NKJV)
In the first part of this article, we saw the instructions that God has given to us regarding those have made us enemies. And the instructions says, we are to love our enemies. Now, the question is, why did He tell us to love our enemies?Well, it is simple! The reason is so that we can become like our father in heaven and He gave reasons for it. He said that the father makes His sun shine on bad and good people alike and gives rain to those who do good and to those who do evil (Matthew 5:45) In other words if this is how God operates, then this is how we ought to live our lives. Now, you see why God cannot have an enemy. Of Course, there are people and forces who have made themselves enemies of God, but God is not thinking that way. If you would live your life like this, your relationship with people will improve and you will not have anybody that you will call an enemy. People might call you their enemy, but they won’t be your enemy because you are functioning from a higher realm with a higher perspective.
Therefore, begin this day to love those who hate you and pray for those who persecute you. Our Lord Jesus Christ did not only preach this message, but He proved it in His life when He was persecuted. Of all the things that were done to Him, the Bible recorded that Jesus Christ did not curse or hate them, rather He prayed for them and said “…forgive them, Father! They don’t know what they are doing…” – Luke 23:34 (GNB). He set an example for us, which we must follow. It was a hard one but considering the fact that He did it, it means we can do it also, if we will submit to the authority of His word. Hallelujah!

Confession for the Day
Father, I am grateful for this wonderful teaching you have brought to me today. I receive grace to love everyone including those who call me an enemy. I choose to do this because I know that He who loves, walks in the path of life, therefore I am walking in the path of life in Jesus name. Amen!
