“I looked for someone who could build a wall, who could stand in the places where the walls have crumbled and defend the land when my anger is about to destroy it, but I could find no one.” (Ezekiel 22:30 GNT)

One of the most important lessons in your walk with God is understanding that He is actively looking for men and women to intercede for cities, nations, people, families, and organizations. Why? Because without intercession, things can go wrong in different areas of life.

A vivid example of this is found in our opening text. God said, “I looked for someone who could build a wall, who could stand in the places where the walls have crumbled and defend the land when my anger is about to destroy it, but I could find no one.” (Ezekiel 22:30 GNT). He didn’t stop there but continued, saying, “So I will turn my anger loose on them, and like a fire, I will destroy them for what they have done.” (Ezekiel 22:31 GNT). Because no one was willing to stand in the gap through prayer, judgment was inevitable.

Beloved, many of the calamities occurring in cities and nations today are a direct result of a lack of intercessors. Many negative situations in people’s lives persist because no one is praying for them. This is why God is always looking for men and women who will dedicate their time and energy to interceding for others. When He finds someone willing to stand in the gap, He finds a reason to intervene on behalf of the people.

I encourage you today to be that man or woman God is looking for. A simple thirty-minute or one-hour prayer of intercession can stop the enemy’s plans and enforce God’s will in a person’s life, a family, or even an entire city. So, get involved! Start by joining our daily intercessory prayers, and watch God raise others who will stand in the gap for you as well. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

When you choose to intercede for others, God will raise people who will stand in the gap for you!

Confession for the Day

Father, I thank You for reminding me of the power of interceding for others. Today, I choose to devote my time and effort to standing in the gap through prayer. As I do this, I am impacting lives, enforcing Your will, and walking in the blessings of intercession. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
