“…let him ask of the giving God (who gives) to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or fault-finding, and it will be given to him…” James 1:5 (AMPC)

Have you ever thought in your heart that God is selfish? Or that He was was holding out on you? Well, if you have done that, you are not alone, there are people out there who share the same feelings. But it is important to know where such thoughts come from. They stem from the devil who likes us to think that God does not want to give to His children. However, as a Christian, it is important that you put those thoughts aside and believe the truth. God in His infinite mercy never holds back from His children. In our opening scripture, the Bible calls Him “the giving God who gives to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or fault – finding” Did you see that?

Contrary to what the devil would like you to believe, God does not consider your errors or the mistakes you have made before giving to you. All He considers is His grace which came to us as a result of the finished works of Jesus Christ. Now, this does not mean that mistakes and errors cannot keep a man from receiving, it does but what you need to understand is that it keeps the man from receiving because of guilt and condemnation but it does not keep God from giving because God does not condemn you. The problem is not with the giving but with the receiving. So, it is important you renew your mind with these fresh thoughts. The Bible says to us that God “makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust…” Matthew 5:45 (NKJV) Let us know that God’s consideration is not on the man but His grace. And Jesus Christ confirmed this when He said, “…if a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? Luke 11:11-13 (NKJV) Therefore, “do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning…” James 1:17 (NKJV) Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

God does not consider your mistakes and errors before He gives to you, all He considers is His grace!

Confession for the Day

Every wrong thought about God’s faithfulness and kindness is deleted from my system today and I declare that only the right thoughts are allowed in me. I prophesy that in all that I do today, my gaze and focus remain on the faithfulness of my God and there is nothing that can convince me otherwise in the name of Jesus. Amen!
