“The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says to the priests: ‘A son honors his father, and a servant respects his master. If I am your father and master, where are the honor and respect I deserve?'” — Malachi 1:6 (NLT)

When you take a moment to reflect on your life and how far you have come, you will realize that it was not by your own strength or power. The achievements and blessings you enjoy today are not solely the result of your efforts but of God’s mercy and grace. Some may believe that they have accomplished everything by themselves, but those who are truly observant know that it is God who has made it all possible.

The question then is, what does God get in return? What can we possibly give back to Him for all He has done? The answer is honor.

If we were to repay God for everything He has done, we would quickly realize that there is nothing we could give that would ever measure up. The only fitting response is to honor Him because He deserves it. Sadly, many people fail to recognize this and treat God with indifference or even disrespect. Over time, it has become clear that such attitudes stem from the influence of the enemy, leading people to take God’s goodness for granted.

Honoring God is non-negotiable. It is a responsibility we must embrace with our lives, resources, time, and service. No matter how high you rise or how low you may feel, make it a priority to give God the honor He deserves. When you do, you will reap the rewards.

God Himself has declared, “I will honor those who honor me, and I will despise those who think lightly of me.” — 1 Samuel 2:30 (NLT). He also commands in His Word, “Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” — Exodus 20:12 (NLT). The reference to “father” extends beyond our earthly parents to God, our Heavenly Father.

Make a conscious decision today to give God the honor He deserves, and watch how He honors you in return. Praise God!

Confession for the Day

Thank You, Father, for opening my eyes to this wonderful revelation. Today, I choose to honor You with my life, my resources, my time, and my service. As I do, I declare that I am walking in Your blessings, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
