Giving Thanks Is a Sacrifice That Honors God

Men raise their arms to thank God.

“…giving thanks is the sacrifice that honors me, and I will surely save all who obey me…” Psalm 50:23 ( GNT)

Beloved, do you want to consistently honor God in your life? Do you want your walk with God to be characterized by honor? Then you must learn to thank the Lord in all things. I know this might sound too simple, but guess what? It is lacking in the lives of many people.

What you see in the lives of many believers today is more complaining than thanksgiving. They complain about everything and never see anything good that is happening in their lives. Now, when complaining and murmuring become the order of the day, it dishonors God and makes it look as though God has not been doing anything in their lives, which is definitely not the case.

The goodness and faithfulness of God toward us cannot be overemphasized. There are things that God has done for us that cannot be done by any man or woman. Even money cannot do a quarter of the things God has done for us, but instead of acknowledging these things and thanking God in return, what many people do is complain. But this is not God’s plan for our lives. God expects us to be thankful at all times. Why? Well, because thanksgiving is a sacrifice that honors God. In our opening text, God says” “…giving thanks is the sacrifice that honors me, and I will surely save all who obey me…” Psalm 50:23 ( GNT). Did you see that? So, make a conscious decision to always give God thanks because it is a sacrifice that honors God and acknowledges the innumerable things that He is doing in us, for us, and through us. Praise God!

Today’s Rhema

When you cultivate the habit of giving God thanks, you are bringing to Him a sacrifice that honors Him!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful to You for reminding me of the need to be thankful at all times. I choose this day to carry an atmosphere of thanksgiving at all times. As I do this, receive all the honor and adoration in Jesus name. Amen!
