“…as they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, Now, separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them…” Acts 13:2 (NKJV)
As the year draws to a close, it is important that you pay more attention to what the Holy Spirit is saying to you this season. You have three hundred and sixty-five days ahead of you and there is so much that God wants you to do and say to you also, so that you will not walk-in errors and stumble. But if that is going to happen, you need to make a conscious decision to pay more attention and listen to the Holy Spirit who is your helper. This is a season that decides tomorrow, what you do now will go a long way to impact your future. So, it is important that you yield yourself to the Holy Ghost in this period, because you will surely receive guidance, directions and instructions. God does not want the future to be a total mystery to you, so He gave you His Spirit, to guide you into all truth and show you things to come (John 16:13). Your responsibility is to understand this and partner with the Holy Spirit to carry out His ministry in you.
Therefore, as you journey into the new year, pay more attention to what the Holy Spirit is saying to you and if possible, get a notebook where you will be writing some of the things He will be saying. And never make the mistake of thinking that those thoughts or positive whispers are just your mind. It is the Holy Spirit, trying to communicate some deep secret truth to you. All you need to do is pay attention and partner with the Holy Spirit. Even as you pray in the Spirit this season, pay attention because the Holy Spirit will surely speak to you.
