“…His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it…” John 2:5 (NKJV)

The wedding in Cana is an eye opener for any Christian who really wants to make a difference in life. One thing we must settle in our hearts is that we may not be able to make any impact in this new year without following divine guidance and instructions from the word of God and the Holy Spirit. This is illustrated in the opening text at the wedding when they ran out of wine. The mother of Jesus told the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it”. This was a clear indication that she was accustomed to Him doing things that were beyond ordinary. She was telling them, “you may not comprehend His ways, but just follow His leading”

The servants followed His directives and the Bible records that this was the beginning of miracles that Jesus did because he turned water to wine. “…When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!” John 2:9‭-‬10 (NKJV). Isn’t this amazing? Imagine how difficult it must have been to follow an instruction to serve purification water to the master of the ceremony? But the servants simply obeyed and received a miracle from Obedience. If only you would follow Jesus at His Word with the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit, your life will surely be easier and testimonies will abound. In this new year, walk differently; walk by his leading, walk in His ways. Don’t be too smart in trying to do things your way. Try following Him to the letter and see as He changes your life forever. Amen.
