One of the things I discovered about many believers today, is that they care more about the opinions of men about them than the opinion of God. You’ll often find a believer who becomes sad and depressed because of the negative opinions that people have about them. But is this how God wants us to live? Certainly not. Beloved, you must understand that the opinions of men about you don’t count and they do not add any value to your life. It is God’s opinion that matters the most and this is what you must focus on.
Even if people think well of you and God doesn’t, whatever good thing man thinks of you will not count. Therefore, learn to focus on what God thinks about you and stop the pity party. Stop trying to be a people-pleaser. The Lord Jesus once made a remarkable statement: “…woe to you when all men speak well of you, For so did their fathers to the false prophets…” Luke 6:26 (NKJV). This lets us know that what matters most is God’s opinion about you. And He has said, “…I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope…” Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV). However, you must be a good representative of the Kingdom as you set a good example that people can emulate, but do not let their opinions about you dictate your life. Hallelujah!
