“Be glad about this, even though it may now be necessary for you to be sad for a while because of the many kinds of trials you suffer. Their purpose is to prove that your faith is genuine. Even gold, which can be destroyed, is tested by fire; and so your faith, which is much more precious than gold, must also be tested, so that it may endure. Then you will receive praise and glory and honor on the Day when Jesus Christ is revealed.” (1 Peter 1:6-7 GNT)
Many times, when we go through difficulties, we are tempted to think that God has abandoned us. We feel that if He truly loves us, He wouldn’t allow such challenges to come our way. But is that really true? The fact that you are facing difficulties does not mean that God doesn’t love you or that He has abandoned you. You must come to terms with this truth; otherwise, you will have a distorted view of God.
Unfortunately, many believers today blame God for the struggles they face and conclude that He does not love them. But no matter what you go through, you must understand that God’s love for you never changes. The Bible says, “Who, then, will condemn them? Not Christ Jesus, who died, or rather, who was raised to life and is at the right side of God, pleading with him for us! Who, then, can separate us from the love of Christ? Can trouble do it, or hardship or persecution or hunger or poverty or danger or death?” (Romans 8:34-35 GNT).
Paul didn’t stop there. He went on to declare, “For I am certain that nothing can separate us from his love: neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers or powers, neither the present nor the future, neither the world above nor the world below—there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39 GNT).
From this, it is clear that God loves you regardless of what you are going through. He allows certain challenges in your life because they serve a purpose. Our opening text states, “…even though it may now be necessary for you to be sad for a while because of the many kinds of trials you suffer. Their purpose is to prove that your faith is genuine…” (1 Peter 1:6-7 GNT). Did you see that? Every situation has a purpose to fulfill in your life. The ultimate goal is to refine and strengthen your faith.
So, put your faith to work and let it prevail. Stop thinking that God allowed your situation to punish you. Instead, embrace the process, learn what you need to learn, and come out victorious. Praise God!

Confession for the Day
Thank You, Father, for opening my eyes to the truth. I refuse to play the blame game. I choose to take responsibility, and I am winning as I walk this path, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
