“…a sound heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones…” Proverbs 14:30 (NKJV)
To overcome envy in your life, you need to understand that God created you in a unique way. Whomsoever you are, whatsoever you have, you must realize that you are still unique in your own way and can never be like anyone else. It doesn’t matter whether you have so much or little. Having little or looking average does not make you any less unique. You are still unique whether you like it or not. Secondly, you need to understand that God’s grace upon your life is different from the grace upon someone else’s life, so learn to appreciate your own grace and leave others alone. When you envy others, you are only appreciating the grace upon their lives but you neglect your own grace. Others do well because they appreciate the grace of God in their lives, so they flaunt it and cherish it which is why you got envious.
If you will do the same, God’s grace in your life will appreciate and put you in the limelight as well. Thirdly, you need to know that we all don’t have the same timing for God’s blessings. Everyone has their time and their turn. Learn to stick to yours and wait for it. The fact that someone else has achieved what you have not achieved, does not mean God has abandoned you or forgotten you, it only means that His schedule for you according to the time of life is yet to come. Don’t get into the rut of envy and wait on the Lord for your timing. Remember, God didn’t create you to forget you. He created you to love you and be lavish towards you. Hold on to that and reciprocate His love. If you work on these three things, I bet envy will be overcome by you. Praise God!

Confession for the Day
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for making me to be as unique as ever, I thank you for helping me to know my worth and to appreciate your grace upon my life. Therefore, I celebrate my worth and your grace upon my life. I see only your grace in my life and refuse to lustfully acknowledge your grace in other people’s life because that is envy. Praise God!
