“…a sound heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones…” Proverbs 14:30 (NKJV)

God in His infinite mercy created every one of us with such uniqueness that He doesn’t want us to envy our neighbor in any way. But the devil does everything he can to ensure that this is not the case. He makes us envy our neighbors either because of who they are or what they have. However, you must not give in to his tricks. It is his desire to cause confusion and make you walk in the path of envy but you must deny him that opportunity to manipulate you otherwise. Because envy is not a healthy path to thread in life. It has brought confusion to many homes and to many relationships. It has made people to be at loggerheads with each other. Its end result is only destruction and that is why the Bible says in our opening scripture that envy is rottenness to the bones. How true! “Wrath is cruel and anger is an overwhelming flood, but who is able to stand before jealousy?” Proverbs 27:4 (AMPC)

Therefore, it is important that you overcome envy in every way possible. You might say but sir, these things are not easy to do sometimes. Well, it is very easy, you just need to apply a few strategies and envy will lose its grip over your life. You might say, well it is not that easy, but that is not true. You must understand that envy, in the first place, is a slap on God’s face. You are saying to God, you did not create me well or you haven’t done anything tangible in my life, so I want to be like other people, I want to have what others have which is wrong because everyone is on a different program with God. If you can only acknowledge your uniqueness and begin to capitalize on it, you will be amazed how happier you will become in life. So, make a conscious decision to envy no one. Instead, appreciate you and all that God has endowed you with. Praise God!
