Don’t Waste Your Midnight

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. —Acts 16:25 (GNT)

When Paul and Silas were apprehended and kept in prison, they did something remarkable that I would like to point out today. Instead of crying and feeling disadvantaged because they had been imprisoned, they decided to do something different.

They waited until midnight and began to pray and sing hymns to God. As they did this, the other prisoners listened to them. The others might have initially thought the two men were wasting their time, but as the prayer continued, something drastic took place.

The Bible says:

Suddenly there was a violent earthquake, which shook the prison to its foundations. At once all the doors opened, and the chains fell off all the prisoners. —Acts 16:26 (GNT)

Did you see that? This simple act of praying at midnight established their victory and facilitated their freedom.

Beloved, if you truly want to win in this world and not be manipulated by demonic forces—if you want to overcome and subdue the circumstances of life—you must make a conscious decision to utilize your midnight properly.

The midnight hour is not to be wasted because it is a time of warfare; it is a time to determine your reality. It is often the time when forces of darkness choose to unleash their terror. If you take advantage of this period and begin to pray like Paul and Silas did, you will be amazed at the victories you will begin to see in your life, business, marriage, and destiny.

Therefore, I encourage you today to take advantage of the midnight season and stop wasting it. One hour of prayer at this time can do so much in your life and frustrate the activities of the kingdom of darkness against you. Hallelujah!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for reminding me of the need to pray at midnight. I choose this day to always pray at midnight, and as I do, I am breaking forward and breaking through in every area of my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
