“…you can be sure that on judgement day everyone will have to give account of every useless word he has ever spoken…” Matthew 12:36 (GNB)
Isn’t it amazing that one day every useless word that has ever come out of your mouth will be accounted for? Well just in case you have never come in contact with this truth before, this is your opportunity to know the truth and take it seriously. One thing you will always find in the world is the useless words that come out of the mouths of people who are wrongly brought up. They don’t have any issues with using the wrong word or abusive languages. They are so comfortable with these kinds of words to the point that it has become an integral part of their lives. They can’t make five sentences without having to use the wrong word because they have never given it a thought that this could be a wrong part to follow in life.
Beloved, as a Christian, one of the proofs of your new identity in Christ is to remove from your vocabulary all forms of useless words. You are never to be found using words that do not edify, you are supposed to be disciplined enough to control your mouth and let the right words come out of you. Today, I have seen many Christians who still use the wrong words, insult people and abuse their lives but the truth remains that this is not the kind of life that God wants us to live. God wants us to manifest the fruit of the spirit at all times and one of the fruit of the Spirit of self-control (Galatians 5:25). When you are able to apply self-control at all times, you won’t speak the wrong words or allow fruitless words to come out of you. So, as you journey in your walk with God, make a conscious decision to become mindful of what comes out of your mouth. Intentionally delete abusive words from your mouth. Someone might say it is not easy, well that is not true because if you choose to say the right things that is what will happen. The ability to use the right word is not a gift of the Spirit but discipline. If you can discipline yourself you can achieve it. Praise God.
Today’s Rhema
The ability to use the right words is not a gift of the spirit but discipline and discipline is cultivated!
Confession for the Day
Thank you Heavenly Father, for this glorious truth you have shared with me today. I choose this day to become mindful of what comes out of my mouth. I choose to delete abusive words from my mouth and replace it with the right words in the name of Jesus. Amen!
