Recently, I was handling a case and asked the person if he spoke in tongues. He replied that he did not, explaining that he only prays the normal way and finds it difficult to pray for long. I then realized why that situation had lingered for such a long time. Beloved, if you truly want to move forward this year, you must desire to pray in tongues more frequently and for extended periods.
Praying with your human understanding is very limited because your mind knows little of the root cause of your situation. It possesses very little knowledge of how to generate the solution that is truly needed. However, praying in the Holy Spirit is limitless because that is your spirit praying. Your spirit is able to tap into the mind of the Father concerning that situation through the agency of the Holy Spirit within you.
When you pray in tongues, you are not only breaking limits in prayer, but you are also praying accurately. You are engaging the intercession of the Holy Spirit and praying the mind of the Master at the same time. At first, it may not look like you are making an impact. However, when you continue in this path persistently and consistently, you will activate the deep intercession of the Spirit.
The Scripture confirms this promise: So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance. —Romans 8:26 (AMPC)
Take note of the phrase, “we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily.” This reality is the reason you need to pray more in tongues with persistence and consistency. When you do this, you will break into new levels in the realm of the Spirit and possess the mantles needed to win in every area of your life. Do not only desire to pray in tongues; learn to pray in tongues for long periods. Praise God!
