“Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion…” —Hebrews 3:15 (NKJV)

Having established the importance of answering God’s call in the first part of this article, you must understand that the call of God is not just something that is important for you to respond to; it is a privilege. Not everybody has that privilege, so if God is asking you to do anything right now, consider it a huge privilege. You can’t keep running away; it will do you no good. The truth remains that by running, you are forsaking your own mercy, provision, and protection because that is what your calling represents. Your calling is your mercy; it is your provision and your protection. By running from it, you expose yourself to a life without real purpose. I know this may sound harsh, but that is the simple truth.

The Bible gives us an account of a man named Jonah, whom God sent to deliver a message of repentance to Nineveh. But Jonah chose to go in the opposite direction. However, he ended up in the belly of a fish because He was disobedient. He was there for three days because he ran away from the call of God. (Jonah 1:17 NKJV). To know how important this story is, a whole book was dedicated to it in the Bible so that we could know the importance of God’s call. So answer the call of God today and stop running. I don’t know what God has been talking to you about, but I know that if you will say yes, you qualify yourself for the next level of God’s plans for your life. Praise God!

Running from God’s call means forsaking your mercy, provision, and protection!

Confession for the Day

Dear heavenly father, I thank you for revealing to me how delicate your call is and how important it is for my promotion. Therefore, I say yes to your will and your ways today in Jesus name. Amen!
