“…You shall not go up and down as a dispenser of gossip and scandal among your people, nor shall you [secure yourself by false testimony or by silence and] endanger the life of your neighbor. I am the Lord…”Leviticus 19:16 (AMPC)
This internet age we are living in now has made it very easy to spread gossip or give yourself to gossip. Why? Because all you find now on social media is gossip and with a click of the finger, it has gone round the world. Now, as a believer it is your responsibility to stay away from such contents that are full of gossip. Do not give yourself to it and do not share it with others. I know this might come as a surprise to some people, but it is the truth. When you sit down to give attention to such information about people that are one-sided and unverifiable and you end up sharing such contents, you have given yourself to gossip which ought not to be so. As much as such a certain information might look interesting, avoid giving attention to it or sharing it. You have been called to spread the Gospel, not gossip, be conscious about this.
Begin today to live your life with a standard because you are a believer who has been called to be an example. Refuse to open yourself to gossip or information that you personally have no proof of. The fact that others are spreading it online does not mean you should do the same. I made up my mind a long time ago, never to share any information that I can’t personally defend or have proof of. I made up my mind not to give myself to or share any content that will destroy the images or reputation of others. I have chosen to only share contents that will edify others and inspire faith in them, and you too should do the same. Spread the Gospel, not gossip. Gossip is Satan’s end time tool to create division and rancor in the body of Christ. If you give yourself to it, you are ignorantly working for the devil, and you do not know it. So, avoid it at all costs, remember the Bible in our opening text says “…You shall not go up and down as a dispenser of gossip and scandal among your people, nor shall you [secure yourself by false testimony or by silence and] endanger the life of your neighbor. I am the Lord…”Leviticus 19:16 (AMPC)
Today’s Rhema
You have been called to spread the gospel not gossip!
Confession for the Day
Thank you Father, for correcting me and leading me in the path to follow. I choose this day to stay away from gossip. I will not give attention to it or be amongst those spreading such garbage, rather I choose to spread the Gospel in all its forms in the name of Jesus. Amen!
