“…my food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work…” —John 4:34
A careful look at the life of our Lord Jesus lets us know that Jesus Christ, in His walk here on earth, did not do the things that He liked to do but rather He did what the Father wanted Him to do. In other words, He did what was right and not what He liked and this was the reason the scribes and the Pharisees could not predict Him or find fault in Him. On one occasion, He spoke about Himself saying “…the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner…” John 5:19 (NKJV). From this you see that our Lord Jesus Christ was carefully watching to do the things that the Father does and shows to Him. Through His statements, we understand that there is a way God wants us to live and do things. Jesus didn’t do things that he felt were nice, He only did the things that were right. In the same way, as Christians today, God does not want us to do the things that we like but the things that are right.
We are living in a generation where people are doing the things they feel like doing. They don’t care if it hurts or not, they don’t care if it is the will of God or not. They just act as though they are the gods of their lives. As a matter of fact, people even say “It is my life, and I can do whatever I like with it.”. Well, I may have to interrupt you there, because your life is not yours, you are only a custodian. You don’t own the life, Someone else does, and He expects you to live each day of your life fulfilling His expectations. Therefore, get serious and start doing the will of the Father. This should be your priority in life. Go back to the scriptures and search for the things He has said concerning several issues in life and begin to appropriate them in your life. For example, God has said a lot concerning our finances, families, marriages, jobs, and more. Your responsibility is to look for those things and begin to do them. Don’t live like a man or woman who is not accountable to someone because the Bible lets us know that someday we will have to give an account. Romans 14:12 clearly states, that “…each of us shall give an account of himself to God…” So the earlier we work on the things we do, the better. Don’t do things because others are doing them, and don’t do things because you feel it is time for me to do this; rather, seek the face of God and do things the way God wants you to do them and at the time He wants you to do them. Doing things right is the key to unlimited success. God bless you!

Confession for the Day
Thank you, Father, for pouring on me the grace to do the things that are right and not the other way around. I declare that as I begin to do things right, I reap the benefits and manifest the glory of God at all times in the name of Jesus. Amen!
