“…do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old, behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it…” —Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV)

Glory be to God! We have entered the seventh month of the year 2023. The question is: What do you see? Are you seeing all the wasted months and days, or are you looking out for the remaining months that are left in the year? Some people might be looking at all the days and months that have gone by without achieving anything, and they feel sad about it because they have not achieved anything. But the truth is, no matter how sad they might be, it will not change anything. As a child of God, do not be in the habit of looking back at the things that went wrong, rather learn to look forward to the things that God is doing and is about to do. Those who look back only end up with regrets and sadness. Remember the story of Lot and his wife. When God was saving them from that place, God specifically said to them through His angel, escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed” Genesis 19:17 but Lot’s wife looked back behind her and she became a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:26) Why? Because she looked back.

This is how dangerous looking back can be. There is nothing wrong with having a sober reflection to determine the areas where you made a mistake so that you can improve on them. But having to regret it is where it becomes an issue. Therefore, be encouraged today to set your focus only on what lies ahead. It might be true that months have gone by and things haven’t gone right, but guess what? You still have a lot of opportunities ahead of you. Instead of whining over what you didn’t achieve, start looking at the things you can achieve with the remaining months left. Be determined to achieve your goals and commit them to the Lord’s hands, and you will be amazed at how things will turn around in your favor. So keep your head straight, start looking at what God has for you tomorrow, and walk towards it. You have a bright future. Praise God!

Today’s Rhema

Looking back will only take you backward, but looking forward will take you forward!

Confession for the Day

Father in the name of Jesus, I thank you for all the days past, I give you glory for what you have done for me, and I thank you for the plans you have ahead of me, I declare that the wisdom to walk in the path you want me to walk in and achieve is at work in me in the name of Jesus. Amen!
