“….Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool. What house will you build for me? Says the Lord, or what is the place of my rest? Has my hand not made all these things?” Acts 7:49-50 (NKJV)

Having established in the first part of this article, the importance of doing things for the Lord as a privilege, you must take it seriously and ponder on it deeply because this will help you to consciously render your worship and services to God as a privilege. Again, you must understand that God is not in need and everything we own today, does not originally belong to us but to Him. However, we have been allowed to serve and worship the Lord with the blessings that we have received from our maker. So, whenever the need arises to do anything for the Lord, do not hesitate or feel reluctant to get it done. When we study the story of King David in the Bible, we see an account that we should learn from. The Bible recorded that King David desired to build the Lord a temple but as he conceived it in his heart, the Lord told him he would not be the one to do it, but his son Solomon. God said to him,”…you shall not build a house for My name, because you have been a man of war and have shed blood…” it’s your son Solomon who shall build My house and My courts; for I have chosen him to be My son, and I will be his father…” 1 Chronicles 28:3,6 (NKJV). Did you see that? Pause and think about this for a moment.

King David desired to build a temple for the Lord but God chose Solomon instead of his father to be the one to build the temple. You can see how, even though David desired to build the Lord a house, God rejected it and said it was Solomon who would build the house. This lets us know that what we do for God is a privilege and it ought to be taken seriously. Today, God lives in us (See 1 Corinthians 6:19) and because God decided to live in us instead of beautiful courts built by kings, shouldn’t we count ourselves privileged and valuable to God? Shouldn’t we yield our bodies to the Lord and follow Him with all our hearts? Of course, we should. So you must take this opportunity you have seriously and give yourself to God! Set yourself apart and be a vessel unto honor who is willing to give to God all things and not withhold anything from the Lord. Praise God!

You are the lord’s house, make yourself ready for Him to abide in you!

I count myself blessed, that even though I was not perfect, the Lord chose to perfect me, even though my sin disqualified me, He chose to wash my sins away and qualify me. He made me perfect and qualified me to be worthy of His presence, qualified me and made me His dwelling place. The Lord is good to me and grateful to Him. Hallelujah!
