“When the morning dawned, the Angels urged lot to hurry, saying, “Arise, take your wife and your two children who are here lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city…” —Genesis 19:15
When God sent his angels to Sodom to go and destroy the city, they visited Lot, the cousin of Abraham, in order to help him escape from the city because it was to be burned down. He tried to warn his sons-in-law, who had married some of his daughters, that they might leave the city together, but they did not believe him. The angels of God couldn’t wait much longer. They instructed him to leave with those he had in a hurry because they didn’t have time. So, Lot and those who left with him acted in a hurry. And they did this because it was time, and time waits for no one.
Beloved, delay can destroy, kill, cause replacement, or even cause denial. This is why people say, “Make hay while the sun shines.” Doing what needs to be done at the right time will bring prosperity, increase, and success. Doing things any other way will bring about the opposite of what you are expecting. Delaying what you intend to do is procrastination, and procrastination, they say, is the mother of all failure. We have seen marriages broken because someone delayed taking the important steps necessary to save the marriage. We have seen large companies fall apart because necessary actions were left undone. Dreams have died because nothing was done.
Most times, it’s not that the person in question didn’t know what to do; rather, they remained stuck in the to-do stage until it was too late. When God gives you a new idea, go for it immediately and do not delay, because someone else may just be working on it and you may be too late. Don’t sit somewhere and laze around. Get up, get to work, and stop the delay!
Today’s Rhema
Get up, get to work, and stop the delay.
CONFESSIONS FOR THE DAY
I declare today that every trace of delay is completely removed from my life. I will handle everything as promptly as necessary to achieve optimum results. I declare that as I make haste in getting all things done, it will bring me favor, increase, prosperity, and promotion, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
