“On your walls, Jerusalem, I have placed sentries; they must never be silent day or night. They must remind the Lord of his promises and never let him forget them. They must give him no rest until he restores Jerusalem and makes it a city the whole world praises.” — Isaiah 62:6-7 (GNT)
One of the devil’s greatest desires is to silence you—stopping you from calling upon the Lord or asking Him for anything. He knows that if he can keep you quiet, his attacks against your life will go unchallenged. That’s why he constantly throws obstacles in your path, trying to discourage and frustrate you. And when you do try to pray, he often intensifies his attacks, hoping you’ll give up.
Sadly, over the years, many of God’s people have fallen into this trap. They’ve allowed trials to silence them, believing the lie that their prayers don’t matter. But that is not God’s plan for your life. No matter what you face, never let the devil succeed in keeping you silent—because if he does, you may never rise above the situation he has placed you in.
As a believer, you must understand that the devil is already a defeated foe. Jesus Christ conquered him through His finished work on the cross. The authority over death and hell is no longer in the devil’s hands but in the hands of Jesus. The Lord Himself declared: “I am the living one! I was dead, but now I am alive forever and ever. I have authority over death and the world of the dead.” — Revelation 1:18 (GNT).
Did you catch that? Satan no longer holds the power he once did. What he relies on now is deception—preying on the ignorance of God’s children. But once you know the truth, you will never be deceived again.
So, no matter how tough things get, refuse to be silenced. When the battle intensifies, increase your prayers. When the devil attacks, call on the name of the Lord even more. God commanded His people: “On your walls, Jerusalem, I have placed sentries; they must never be silent day or night. They must remind the Lord of His promises and never let Him forget them. They must give Him no rest until He restores Jerusalem and makes it a city the whole world praises.” — Isaiah 62:6-7 (GNT).
Did you see that? You must persist in prayer, reminding God of His promises, and never giving up. If you continue steadfastly, you will surely prevail. Praise God!
