“Do not bear a grudge against others, but settle your differences with them, so that you will not commit a sin because of them.” — Leviticus 19:17 (GNT)

As you grow in your Christian walk, one of the things you must avoid is bearing grudges, whether the person is a believer or not. Letting go of grudges demonstrates spiritual maturity and helps you maintain good relationships with others. Unfortunately, many of God’s people still hold onto grudges and keep malice. They know this isn’t the path God wants them to tread, but they justify their actions because they feel offended. What they don’t realize is that bearing grudges and keeping malice is a big mistake.

As a believer, you must understand that God does not want you holding onto grudges or keeping malice against anyone. As simple as this might sound, it’s something you need to settle in your heart. In our opening text, God told the Israelites, “Do not bear a grudge against others, but settle your differences with them, so that you will not commit a sin because of them.” — Leviticus 19:17 (GNT). Did you see that? This is the same for us today. Holding onto grudges or keeping malice leads to sin against God, so do all you can to avoid it at all costs. When you do, you will find yourself growing in love and walking in love toward others. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

If you want to grow in love and walk in love toward others, avoid bearing grudges!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for this wonderful truth You have revealed to me today. I declare that the wisdom and grace to walk in love toward others is at work in me, and no matter what happens, I will never give in to grudges in Jesus’ name. Amen!
