Middle aged woman standing in church folded her hands in prayer. Woman asks God for help, praying to God with hope and gratitude

“O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.” — Psalms 63:1-3 (NKJV)

Previously on this subject,, we discussed the importance of seeking God diligently. But you might wonder, how exactly can I seek God diligently concerning a matter?

The first step is to recognize that help doesn’t come from men but from God. “For exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another.” — Psalm 75:6-7 (NKJV). Many of God’s people forget this truth and focus on seeking help from people. As a result, they face disappointment because human help is limited. But remember, it is God who makes men help you. When you put God first, He will ensure the right people come into your life to assist you. Therefore, shift your focus from relying on men and channel your energy toward seeking God. In His perfect timing, everything will fall into place.

The second thing you must do is go back to the scriptures. This might seem too simple, but it is key to finding the solution you seek. Many people overlook this step, especially in times of distress, because they don’t see how searching the scriptures could help. And while it’s understandable—life’s challenges can cloud our thinking—going back to the Word of God can make all the difference.

In desperate times, one word from God can settle your situation, but that word won’t come when you’re overwhelmed with worry. It comes when you’re calm and open to hear from God. This is why returning to the scriptures is crucial; it will position you spiritually to hear from God. Through the Word, you’ll be reminded of His promises, and God can speak to you, instruct, and comfort you. Once you secure a word from God, you’ve already won the battle. Many believers experience frustration in trying times because they have no word from God to hold on to. But if you are diligent enough to seek Him through the scriptures, you will surely find a way out. In the next part, we will explore more steps to diligently seeking God. Hallelujah!
