“O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.” — Psalms 63:1-3 (NKJV)
Many times when God’s people face difficult situations, they give up too quickly, saying, “I prayed, but nothing happened.” But when you ask them, “Have you diligently sought God about it?” the answer is often “No.”
As you walk with God, you must understand that some situations will not change with a casual prayer. It may require you to discern God’s will and understand the root cause of the issue. To gain such clarity, you need to seek God diligently. A perfect example is the story of Daniel. He sought God diligently for clarity and stayed in prayer for twenty-one days. On the twenty-fourth day, an angel finally appeared, revealing that God had heard Daniel’s prayer from the first day, but the prince of Persia had delayed the answer (Daniel 10:1-21). Imagine if Daniel had given up after three days! He would have missed his victory.
If you want to break through barriers in your life, you must be intentional and persistent in seeking God. Don’t be quick to give up. Too often, many of God’s people miss out on the victory they desire because they lack the patience and persistence to press into God for answers. Your situation can be different. Be willing to seek God diligently, and He will reveal the hidden things concerning your situation and show you what steps to take to turn it around. When you take this approach, you’ll be amazed at how easily breakthroughs and victories will come. Hallelujah!
