“…how can these things be, seeing that I do not know a man?…” Luke 1:34 (NKJV)

Over the years, many have wondered about the question that Mary the mother of Lord Jesus asked when the angel of the Lord visited her.  Some people think she may have doubted because of the question that she asked the angel. Remember she said to the angel, “…how shall this thing be, seeing that I do not know a man?…” Luke 1:34 (NKJV). Well, the question she asked was not from a place of doubt but from a desire to gain understanding because what she was being told was against all biological protocols. We know this because when the angel of the Lord explained that the power of God was going to overshadow her and cause her to conceive, she immediately accepted the explanation of the angel and said “Let it be to me according to your word…”- Luke 1:38 (NKJV)

If the initial question she asked, was coming from a place of doubt, she would have pressed further, insisting that biologically, it was impossible. But because she believed the word, she accepted it and held on to it. Beloved, this is how we ought to respond when we receive the word. We are not expected to ask too many questions because we should know that God in His infinite mercy knows how to restore whatever we have lost, and He also knows how to give to us whatever we may need. So, as you journey in your Christian walk, never stay at the place of doubt. It’s okay to ask questions when you are trying to understand, but asking questions because you feel it is not possible is wrong. You must understand that, as long you are walking in doubt, you will never receive anything tangible from the Lord. The Bible clearly says, “…he who doubts is like a wave of the seas driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man supposed that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways…” James 1:7-8 (NKJV). Did you see that? I encourage you today to therefore, believe God’s word and never doubt it because Mary the mother of Jesus, never doubted.

Today’s Rhema

As long as you don’t doubt, you will always win!

Confession for the Day

The faith to do exploits and achieve the impossible is at work in me, therefore I refuse to walk in doubt. I refuse to be double minded about the promises of God. I choose to believe promises of God and as I do this, I walk in dominion in the name of Jesus. Amen!
