“….“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit…”Jeremiah 17:7‭-‬8 (NKJV)

Many years ago before I answered the Call, I was asked a question that threw me off balance. I knew I had a calling but was still contemplating whether to go in that direction or not. So the pastor, who was talking to me asked, how much do you trust God? Are you really dependent on Him? When she saw the look on my face, she said, You don’t trust God and as long as you don’t trust Him, you definitely will not depend on Him. When this came to me, I was amazed, because I never thought that my contemplation regarding my calling was a result of the fact that I didn’t trust the Lord. This ultimately meant that I couldn’t depend on Him. That conversation got me thinking for a long time and it brought me to a place of total trust and dependence on God.

Before that conversation, I always thought I was depending on God, but when the question of trust came up, I realized that I was just following Jesus, but I was not depending on Him for my life. Beloved, you can be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ but never really trust Him with your life and future. So, I ask you today, are you truly depending on Jesus? Do you truly trust Him and His Word? You may never have thought about this, but I want you to give it some deep thought. When you trust God for your life and destiny, you do not get anxious or scared about what the future holds. When you truly depend on God, you do not disturb yourself about where the next meal or rent is going to come from, because somehow you know that it will be taken care of because you are dependent on God.

I want to encourage you today, to make a conscious decision to depend on God, for every aspect of your life, why? Because the benefits of depending on God are enormous. When you depend and trust in the Lord, it doesn’t matter what happens around you, you will never be moved, for it is written “…those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, Which cannot be moved, but abides forever….” Psalms 125:1 (NKJV) Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

When you depend and trust in the Lord, it doesn’t matter what happens to you or around you, you will not be moved!

Confession for the Day

Glorious and everliving Father, I thank you for your word today. It has brought light to my understanding and I choose this day to depend on you for the affairs of my life. As I do this, I flourish on all sides in the name of Jesus. Amen!
