“You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 2:1 NIV)
Having established the importance of putting your confidence in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, you must learn to see His grace as your strength and advantage. Remove your focus entirely from your personal abilities because, in grace, all your abilities have been replaced with the abilities of Jesus Christ. If you make this simple adjustment, you will be amazed at how far you can go and what you can accomplish in a short time.
Many people have been hindered in different areas of life because they have always depended on their own abilities. Some never pursued education because they felt they lacked the money. Others delayed marriage because they believed they couldn’t afford a wedding. Many never started businesses because they felt incapable. But I am writing to remind you that you can do all things through Christ—if you will only put your confidence in His grace.
When the apostle Paul was troubled by a thorn in his flesh and pleaded with the Lord to take it away, God said to him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:8-9 NIV) In the same way God spoke to Paul, He is saying the same thing to you today: “My grace is sufficient for you. Therefore, rest in My grace, put your confidence and faith in My grace and not in your own abilities, and I will bring you to an expected end,” says the Lord.
Wait no more—make that adjustment today. Rest in His grace, not in your own ability. Praise God!

Confession for the Day
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for making Your grace available to me in Christ Jesus. I do not take it for granted, and I will not lose sight of it. I declare that from this day forward, every confidence in my own ability is shifted to the grace of God, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
