“You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 2:1 NIV)
Sometimes, we get caught up in the idea of performance and forget the role of grace in our lives. What do I mean by that? We tend to rely more on our own efforts—what we can do—than on what grace can accomplish. We become so consumed with our abilities that we overlook the limitless power of grace.
For example, there are things we hesitate to pursue because we feel inadequate based on our knowledge, understanding, or skills. There are places we avoid because we believe we lack the right connections. There are heights we think are unreachable because we focus on our limitations rather than on God’s grace.
Why does this happen? Because we are often more self-dependent than God-dependent. We are more aware of our weaknesses—which limit us—than we are of God’s grace, which makes us supernaturally unlimited in all things.
However, it’s time to shift our focus because that is not how God wants us to live. Beloved, understand that through Jesus Christ, God has given you grace—now, there are no limitations. Stop placing confidence in your own abilities, for they will only take you so far. Instead, put your confidence in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. When you do this, you rely on the power of His finished work, which can launch you into all kinds of possibilities. Praise God!

Depend on the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, not on your abilities!
Confession for the Day
I choose this day to depend solely on the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. As I do this, every limitation on my path is lifted in Jesus’ name.
