“We are hedged in (pressed) on every side (troubled and oppressed in every way) but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair; we are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted (to stand alone), we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed…” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (AMPC)

Are you going through a season of difficulty and are about to break under the pressure? Relax, you were not meant to give up or break under the pressure. That situation was not meant to have the victory over you; you are the one that has the victory. Therefore, you have a responsibility to deny that situation victory over you. But if that is going to happen, you must deliberately work towards it. Situations don’t just bow, they bow only when there is a stronger opposition against them, and that opposition has to be you. You might say, but what can I do to mount the opposition? First of all, you need to work on your mind because every victory or defeat begins there. If you have the mindset of a loser, you will find yourself losing in all things, but if you have the mindset of a victor, you will always end up in victory. So you need to upgrade by making up your mind that defeat is not an option; only winning is allowed. Just that little adjustment can change everything.

When we take a look at our opening scripture, you discover that Paul the apostle had a mindset and it was reflected in the way he spoke. He said, “We are hedged in (pressed) on every side (troubled and oppressed in every way) but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair; we are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted (to stand alone), we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed…” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (AMPC) Did you see that? A man who speaks this way thinks differently.

So make a conscious decision to work on your mind, and you will be amazed at the results you will get. In our next article, we will look at the next step you should take. But until then, I want you to remember that if you must deny that situation the victory, it must begin in your mind, and the way to truly work on your mind is to invest the Word of God into it (Scripture Reference: Romans 12:1-2)

Today’s Rhema

Situations don’t just bow, they bow only when there is a stronger opposition against them, and that opposition has to be you!

Confession for the Day

Father in the Name of Jesus, I thank you for teaching me your Word and revealing to me steps to take to defeat the adversary. I declare that as I take these steps and put your Word to work, I abound with results through your grace. I am making giant strides and winning in all situations in the name of Jesus. Amen!
