Crave to Know Him More

“…that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death…”Philippians 3:10 (NKJV)

The above statement in our opening text are the very words of Paul the Apostle. After walking with Jesus for many years, his earnest desire was to know Jesus and the power of His resurrection. This desire in him, made him to have an outstanding ministry and till date we are still benefiting from the impact of his ministry.

Beloved, if you want to have an exceptional and impactful Christian life, you must crave to know Him more. It has to be your earnest, continued, heartfelt desire. The reason is that you can’t really discover who you are, and what He has called you to do, without discovering who He is and what sacrifice He has offered on your behalf. The more you know Him, the more you know who you are. Your identity is hidden in Him. The more you discover who He is to you, the more you discover who you are in Him. So, you must make it a lifelong goal to pursue the knowledge of Him.

Sadly, this is not the goal of many today. What many of God’s people are after, is what they can get from God. It’s all about their life and what they want. But that kind of approach only ends in futility. But if you pursue Him, the things He has to give you begin to chase after you. The goal is to (crave) pursue after Him and all you are looking for will come after you. It is for this reason the Bible says “…seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you…” Matthew 6:33 (NKJV).

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for all you have done for me in Christ Jesus. I decree today that the grace and zeal to know you more is at work in me. And as I pursue the knowledge of you, I am discovering who I am and I am doing exploits in this world in the name of Jesus. Amen!
