“….I will pour water on him that is thirsty….” —Isaiah 44:3 (NKJV)

“Man must not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). This was the answer that Jesus gave to the devil when He was confronted in the wilderness. His reply reveals to us a pattern of life that God wants us to live. When Jesus said man must not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” He was trying to let us know that as Christians, we should live and operate by God’s word and nothing else. In the world we are living in today, there is too much information out there that can make a man veer off God’s plan for his life. The misleading information is on the increase and if caution is not taken, you can end up living on the information in the world instead of that which is in the word of God. So I encourage you to go for the word. Let it be your passion and your hunger at all times because this is the secret to living by the word and nothing else. Do not be amongst those who are not hungry for God’s word. They want every other thing from God but when it comes to the word of God they don’t want it. They are too lazy to study the word of God and when they do, they sleep off because they don’t have an interest in God’s word. But this should not be your case.

Make a conscious decision that you will always go for God’s word. Yearn for it and always seek to know more, because the more you know the more blessed you would become. You might say but sir, why so much emphasis on the word of God? Well, you must understand that a very important part of our faith in God is His word. If you are ever going to know more about God and live the life He has called you to live, you must go for the word. The word of God is the light you need in this dark world and it is the map you require to get to the destination that God has ordained for you. You and the word are in separable because you are born by the word of God (1 Peter 1:23) and to succeed in this world, you must live by the word. So crave for the word of God and delight yourself in it because the benefits are enormous. The Bible says “…blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, No stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord. And in His law, he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bring forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper…” Hallelujah!

TODAY’S RHEMA

The word of God is the light you need in this dark world and it is the map you require to get to the destination that God has ordained for you!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Dear heavenly father I thank you for your word which you have made available to us to live by and fulfil your plans in our lives. I declare that henceforth the desire to go for the word is stirred up in me and every time I study or hear the word, I receive understanding and the ability to do the word and see results in all areas of my life in the name of Jesus. Amen!
