that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. —Galatians 3:14 (NKJV)

Being in Christ Jesus has qualified you for the blessings of Abraham. However, you must realize that to walk in the reality of these blessings, you need active faith. It takes faith to move from a legal qualification to a living experience of the blessing.

Over the years, I have heard many people sing about the blessing, but singing alone is not enough. You must ponder the reality of these promises and be willing to exercise your faith just as Papa Abraham did. When you look closely at his account, you see a man who believed, followed, and obeyed the voice of God without reservation.

…against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken. —Romans 4:18 (KJV)

Abraham was not weak in faith. He did not focus on the physical limitations of his own body, though he was about a hundred years old, nor did he dwell on the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He refused to stagger at the promise of God through unbelief. Instead, he grew strong in faith and gave glory to the Father.

He remained fully persuaded that what God had promised, He was also able to perform. Because of this unwavering stance, his faith was imputed to him for righteousness. Papa Abraham did not walk in the blessings by accident; he deliberately put his faith to work.

And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. —Romans 4:19-22 (KJV)

He possessed a stubborn faith that refused to quit when the going got tough. He stood his ground, knowing that the One who promised was faithful to bring it to pass. Today, many of God’s people want the results of Abraham without being willing to hold on to the Word as he did.

Many are unwilling to believe in hope against hope when challenges arise. If you truly want your case to be different, you must be willing to unleash your faith. Be stubborn about your trust in God and hold fast to His promises, because when you do, the blessings of Papa Abraham will surely flow in your life. Hallelujah!
