Confront Your Fears (2)

“…be anxious for nothing, be in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God….”- Philippians 4:6 (NKJV)

In line with what we have seen in the first part of this article, it is important to understand that fear has to be confronted. Until you confront fear, it will always have power over you and this is not the will of God for your life. When King David was faced with Goliath of Gath, he did not panic or cower like the other soldiers who had been there on the battlefield; rather he challenged Goliath and confronted Him without considering how big he was. Guess what! The Bible recorded that “when the philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him”- 1 Samuel 17:48, meaning he had no fear whatsoever.  This is how God wants us to operate. Refuse to walk in fear but confront it before it takes hold of you.

Maybe, as you are reading this article right now, you have some fear, you are scared of the dark or scared of the future or maybe even the devil. God says, “Fear not, only be strong and very courageous” because there is nothing to fear about. The only source of fear which is the devil has long been defeated and stripped of his power. Right now, even the devil has no dominion or strong hold over you. Praise God! In the book of Revelation 1:17, Jesus addressed John saying, “Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last. I am the living One; I was dead and now look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of Death and Hades. So Jesus is the one with all power and authority today and you are complete in Him. So there is no authority or power anywhere that can bring you defeat. They will certainly try but the joy is that even before they try they have already failed because the devil has long been defeated. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

Don’t be afraid to confront your fears, it doesn’t matter how fearful it may look or sound, always remember that you have been given the spirit of sound mind and love and not fear

Confession for the Day

Father in the name of Jesus, I thank you for your word today; I am strengthened with might in my inner man. I declare that every spirit of fear in me is hereby banished in the name of Jesus; I prophesy that as I carry out my duties, I do it with boldness, joy and courage in Jesus name. Amen!
