“Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and My burden is light…” —Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV)

“Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest.” These are the very words of by Jesus Christ to all those who were heavily burdened in life. It was a solemn call to all those who dared to answer the call. Sadly, many now think this particular call is for only those who are not yet in Christ and are heavily burdened. However, the truth is that the call was not only for those who are not yet in Christ but also for those who are in Christ and are heavily burdened. It is a call for everyone, and as a Christian, you must learn to re-visit this statement in your times of distress so as to ascertain where you stand.

Sometimes, the pressures of life and the challenges we face from time to time can be so tough on us that we lose sight of those precious words that came out of the lips of the master. But, we can’t continue like this, we must act on the words of the master at all times. If Christians, will hold on to those words and actually cast their burdens unto the Lord, there will be less depression, emotional pain, and consistent worry. However, to avoid this, I encourage you to take the words of the master seriously and cast your burden on the Lord. Remember, He cares for you and if you are able to cast that care unto the Lord and trust Him enough to bring you solutions, He will certainly come through in your life. The Bible says, “…humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you…”1 Peter 5:6- 7 (NKJV). Believe in this counsel of the scripture and align yourself to it and trust me, your experiences will be testimonies all the way.

Confession for the Day

Knowledge and light have come to me today, therefore, I will never be anxious for anything. I choose to roll my cares unto the Lord and as I do this, I receive divine assistance and solutions in the name of Jesus. Amen!
