“And: ‘You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; and they will all grow old like a garment’” — Hebrews 1:10–11 (NKJV)
One thing is certain: nothing made in this world lasts forever. Everything in existence has a finite lifespan. Something may look beautiful or be the talk of the town today, but by tomorrow, it becomes outdated and obsolete. Even the world we inhabit is temporary. One day, the beautiful buildings and grand skyscrapers will vanish. Luxury cars will become extinct, and the seas will dry up.
What humanity appreciates as beautiful will eventually disappear, leaving nothing behind except the Creator. When everything else is gone, the world will face the reality that nothing was ever meant to last. In that moment, people will realize that God is the only thing they truly have.
Therefore, I urge you, my brothers and sisters in the Lord, to open your eyes while you still can. Do not let the deceitfulness of riches or the fleeting beauty of this world carry you away. Bear in mind that these things will eventually be swallowed up in the dust. Instead, use your time on earth wisely. Build your life and lay your foundation in Jesus, for this is the only path that endures.
When everything in this world falls apart, your foundation in Jesus remains. Protect your future in Him and preserve your salvation. Do not allow the things you see to deceive you into thinking this life is all there is. There is a better, higher life in Jesus. Give earnest heed to what you have heard today so that you do not drift away.
“Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.” — Hebrews 2:1 (NKJV)
Today’s Rhema
