“Freedom is what we have—Christ has set us free! Stand, then, as free people, and do not allow yourselves to become slaves again.” — Galatians 5:1 (GNT)

One of the things the devil would like you to believe is that you are under his dominion. He stirs up situations and circumstances to make it appear that he has authority over you. He brings afflictions in your body, finances, and family to convince you that you are a slave to him. He torments and bullies you in every way possible, trying to make you feel his authority. However, all these actions are merely attempts to distract you from the reality of this truth: Christ has given you freedom.

In our opening text, the Bible clearly states: “Freedom is what we have—Christ has set us free! Stand, then, as free people, and do not allow yourselves to become slaves again.” — Galatians 5:1 (GNT). Did you see that? This is your reality in Christ Jesus. It doesn’t matter what the devil sets against you or tries to do; the truth remains that you have been made free by the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ. The question is, do you believe this? The devil succeeds in bullying God’s people because many lack the knowledge and conviction of what Christ has given them. Those who know are not convinced, and that’s why his oppression persists. Beloved, if you want to stop the devil in his tracks and put an end to his oppressions, you must come to terms with this truth. Believe it in your heart and settle it. Doing so will go a long way toward ending the troubles he brings your way.

So, “May you be made strong with all the strength which comes from His glorious power, so that you may be able to endure everything with patience. And with joy give thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to have your share of what God has reserved for His people in the kingdom of light. He rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us safely into the kingdom of His dear Son, by whom we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven.” — Colossians 1:11-14 (GNT). Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

When you understand that Christ has made you free, the devil becomes powerless towards you!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for revealing this truth to me. I choose to bask in the freedom You have given me, and as I do this, the works and activities of the devil against me are rendered useless in Jesus’ name. Amen!
