“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” —1 John 5:4 (NKJV)
One of the things that the challenges of life bring is fear. It doesn’t stop there; it also puts you under pressure and pushes you toward unbelief. But whatever the case may be, do not give in. Instead, choose the way of faith.
You might ask, “Why?” Because faith is what brings victory. Faith is the law that brings the victory you desire. The Bible says, “…every child of God is able to defeat the world. And we win the victory over the world by means of our faith.” —1 John 5:4 (GNT). Did you see that? This lets us know that we are able to defeat whatever challenges come our way. The only thing required of you is to choose the way of faith.
Now, you might ask, “How can I choose the way of faith when I am already neck-deep in this problem?” I understand how real these situations can feel. But the truth is, if you can turn your attention to God and commit the matter to Him, you will be amazed at how that situation will lose its grip.
Remember the case of the Shunammite woman whose child died. The death of the child was real, but she didn’t start crying or panicking. Instead, the Bible says:
“She carried him up to Elisha’s room, put him on the bed and left, closing the door behind her. Then she called her husband and said to him, ‘Send a servant here with a donkey. I need to go to the prophet Elisha. I’ll be back as soon as I can.’ ‘Why do you have to go today?’ her husband asked. ‘It’s neither a Sabbath nor a New Moon Festival.’ ‘Never mind,’ she answered.” —2 Kings 4:21-23 (GNT)
When she met the prophet and presented the matter, she ended up receiving her son back. Why? Because she didn’t accept her son’s death as the final report. She knew something could still be done, and she indeed got a breakthrough.
In the same way, if you can hold on to the Lord, you will be amazed at the results you will get. So, abandon yourself to God and know that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you ask or think according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). Hallelujah!
