And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. —Romans 12:2 (NKJV)
I have often heard people say that they have done everything that needs to be done, yet things are still not working out for them. They have fasted, prayed, and even sown seeds, but nothing seems to move as planned. Through my walk with the Father, I have discovered that true change happens internally rather than externally. The transformation you require will not come through outward actions alone; it comes through what takes place within you.
If you are reading this and you truly desire a shift in your life, it must come through a transformed mind. There is nothing as powerful as a renewed mind because that is the birthplace of real transformation. Our opening scripture instructs us not to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This indicates that God does not want us to follow the patterns of the world, but to be distinct by changing how we think.
Your mind is your greatest asset. It is the door to your spirit and the seat of your consciousness. Everything you are in your mind will eventually reflect in your outward appearance. For example, when you observe a person’s clothing or hear the way they speak, you are understanding their mindset. Every action a person takes comes from that internal source.
If the mind has not been renewed, a person’s ability to recognize opportunities will depend entirely on their mental status. As a child of God, you must be intentional about your mindset. You must work on renewing your mind on a regular basis because this is the specific area where your change originates. Perhaps the reason things have not shifted as you desire is simply because of the way you think or perceive your situation.
Your perceptions, your speech, and your vision all culminate in the kind of change you will eventually see. Consider a man whose mind is fixed only on specific physical qualities when looking for a spouse. In the course of searching for that specific image, he might encounter his God-given wife and fail to recognize her because his mind is focused elsewhere. Many miss divine opportunities because their minds were set on what they wanted rather than what they truly needed.
This is why you must seek to change your mindset. Make deliberate efforts to renew your mind constantly with the right materials, which is the Word of God. It is the only material that guarantees a quick and enduring transformation. Scripture is the only tool that helps you to see, think, hear, and perceive life exactly the way God wants you to.
Who you will be and what you will possess on the outside is solely dependent on who you are in your mind. God once told me that just as a man’s mental health is revealed in his outward condition, your current experiences are reflections of your internal state. If you desire a better experience, you must consider an architectural upgrade of your thoughts.
…that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. —Romans 12:2 (NKJV)
