“…Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me…” John 15:4 (NKJV)

After receiving Jesus Christ into your life and asking Him to become the Lord of your life, you must make a conscious decision to build a relationship with Him. To do this, you need to create time to get to know Him, understand His words, and live according to His expectations for your life. You must deliberately give attention to regular fellowship with Him, because without it, you will be in Christ but have no relationship with Him.

Unfortunately, this is where many people are today in their walk with Jesus. They are in Christ, but they are not consciously building a relationship with Him. They do not engage in any activities that will help them build a relationship with Jesus. Instead, they engage in activities that strain their relationship with Jesus. And when issues come up, they expect Jesus to show up for them without fail. But the question is, is this how God wants us to live our lives? The answer is a big no.
Jesus expects us to be in an actual relationship with Him. He wants us to be deliberate about it. He does not want us to seek Him only when we have problems. He wants us to consciously build that bond with Him, and then every other thing that we require or desire in life will naturally flow towards us. We will not have to beg or ask because, before we ask, He will have already given it to us. So, I admonish you today to deliberately build a relationship with Jesus. The Bible says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33 NKJV) So, make your relationship with Jesus a priority and watch everything else fall into place for you.

Today’s Rhema

When you consciously build a relationship with Jesus, everything you require or desire will naturally come to you!

Confession for the Day

Father, I thank you for your Word. I receive grace today to build my relationship with you, and every opposition or resistance to this decision is canceled, and my relationship with you is flourishing. Hallelujah!
