“And He said to them, ‘Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.’”Luke 12:15 (NKJV)

We live in a world brimming with new innovations and material possessions. The desire to acquire these things can often be overwhelming. When you find yourself unable to obtain them, it’s easy to feel disadvantaged or left behind. But are you truly disadvantaged? The answer is a resounding no.

The feeling of inadequacy or lack stems from the devil’s attempt to sow seeds of covetousness in your heart. Covetousness is one of his tools to make people lust after what others have. The truth is, not being able to acquire or achieve something at a particular moment doesn’t mean you’re at a disadvantage—it simply means it’s not your time yet. What you need is patience and focus on your growth and preparation, trusting that your moment will come.

Beloved, it’s important to deal with the urge to acquire things prematurely. If left unchecked, this desire can push you into compromising situations, causing you to make decisions that could lead to regret. Many have lost their lives, integrity, or peace of mind while chasing after things outside God’s timing. That’s not His plan for you.

Jesus Himself cautioned us: “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” This scripture reminds us that life’s true value isn’t in material possessions but in fulfilling God’s purpose for us. Your life is defined by where you are in God’s plan, not by what you own.

So, instead of striving for possessions, strive to stay aligned with God’s timing. At each stage of your life, God’s grace will equip you to achieve what He has ordained for you. You won’t need to force or manipulate circumstances. Trust in His plan, and He will bring everything to pass in His perfect timing.

Today’s Rhema

Our life is not defined by what we possess, rather, by where we are in God’s calendar!

Confession for the Day

Heavenly Father, Your Word is always refreshing to my soul. I receive today’s counsel with all meekness, and I refuse to give in to covetousness. I choose to stay aligned with Your will and timing for my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
